Jewish Atheist

An agnostic atheist perspective
from a once orthodox Jew.
I’d like to be proud, but the truth is that if religious orthodox Jews were a majority, they’d probably try to make it illegal. Case in point: It’s illegal{ish} in Israel! {For instance, see this link.} And I know for a fact that there are very many orthodox jews who vote republican precisely bc it agrees with some of their religious beliefs {for instance, against gay marriage. link}.
So, while I agree the message - don’t force your beliefs on others - and would love to have some Jewish pride in thinking we don’t do that, I’m not sure I can.
The fact is, religious majorities of any kind and in any country are dangerous without a firm mentality or law of keeping your religion to yourself.
Followup: Read some of the notes as well. GoodReasonNews had another excellent example: "Remember when they tried to eliminate bike lanes in Brooklyn because sluts and butts?"
This might make sense though {x}.
